Description:
Association YMCA Orlová belongs to the worldwide family of YMCA - the biggest and oldest youth movement in the world. YMCA offers young people opportunities of personal development through leisure time activities and non-formal education. It is an open organization for all who respect basic human values, without preference of any personal, religious, political or other affinities.
The YMCA Orlová work is quite wide. We organize lectures, discussions, concerts, workshops and holiday camps. We also have two regular activities: Youth information centre (ICM) located in the Orlová city culture centre (offers complete information service for youngsters, their families and youth workers; i.e. web, phone and office counselling in any subject which could be important for young people: schools, jobs, travelling, culture and sports, crisis advice, etc.; it is the only state accredited ICM in Moravian-Silesian Region). ICM would also take care of coming volunteers. The second activity is a gospel choir called Keep Smiling Gospel Orlová – it is an all-generations choir with a good name in our region; and also organizing creative activities for youngsters (music, singing, dancing, photography, video, etc.).
